At NYS Chaplain Response Team (NYSCRT), our educational programs are specifically designed to prepare individuals for religious service and ministry-focused roles. Our accreditation is specialized for theological and ministry training within the Christian tradition.
We emphasize that our programs are tailored for religious service, equipping chaplains and ministry workers with the theological knowledge and practical skills needed to serve in faith-based contexts. As such, the degrees and certifications offered through NYSCRT may not be comparable to those provided by secular or regionally accredited institutions.
While our programs hold value within the religious community and provide robust preparation for ministry, they may not be recognized or transferable outside of religious or theological environments. The primary purpose of our accreditation is to affirm the quality of education in religious and ministerial contexts.
The Ministry of Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy is an ancient and noble calling. The role of the chaplain is to share and offer God’s love to those in need. Chaplains—both men and women—embrace the commitment to be instruments of God in His work of restoring the mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of humanity. It is a ministry rooted in compassion, care, and a deep responsibility to help those facing life’s most challenging moments.
In line with our commitment to theological education, we strive to foster dialogue and collaboration among those involved in theological education, leadership, and the administration of institutions such as seminaries and Bible institutes. This includes working with students preparing for ministry within Hispanic churches. Two key goals that shape our mission are to promote and develop theological education for Hispanic/Latino individuals studying in Bible institutes, seminaries, universities, and other programs at the congregational level, and to encourage communication and cooperation among those engaged in Hispanic theological education, including individuals in Bible institutes, denominational agencies, seminaries, and other higher education institutions.
